**Job Description**
This exciting position involves computational biology, combining the development of novel computational methods, specifically involving control theory, with practical systems modelling, simulation, and data analysis. The primary application field is platelet biology and haemostasis. The postholder will play a key role in a project focused on developing computational means for the objective evaluation of purpose in biology. These theoretical efforts are complemented by an experimental programme investigating cell communication and coordination in thrombi, considered as “transient tissues”.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
• Previous experience with computational modelling, method development, and numerical analysis applied to biology or allied fields (e.g., neuroscience, medicine).
• Publication record and experience of presenting at conferences.
• Knowledge of, or willingness to rapidly learn about, cell biology in general and platelet biology and haemostasis in particular.
**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Biology
• Physics
• Applied Mathematics
• Computer Science
**Experience**
Other:
• Ph.D qualification in a relevant field with a commensurate publication record.
