**Job Description**
Aarhus University’s Section for Electrical Energy Technology invites applications for several postdoctoral positions to join major national and European-funded research initiatives. These positions focus on developing next-generation technologies for sustainable energy systems, including advanced power converter systems for Power-to-X (PtX) applications, electrochemical energy storage, microgrid solutions, integration of quantum computing into power systems, and other emerging energy technologies aimed at decarbonizing modern energy and transportation sectors. The research involves designing intelligent, modular, and scalable battery pack concepts for urban electromobility, developing disruptive power converter topologies, advancing microgrid technologies for climate neutrality, and exploring quantum computing for power system optimization. Projects are conducted in an international and multidisciplinary environment.

**Skills & Abilities**
• Experienced in designing systems to meet state-of-the-art standards
• Experienced in selecting components based on performance, reliability, and cost
• Experienced in validating designs through simulation and testing
• Experience in advanced Battery Management System (BMS) development
• Experience in control strategies
• Experience in system integration
• Ability to think creatively and identify innovation opportunities
• Ability to translate research into robust, practical solutions
• Experience in power electronics
• Experience in control and modelling
• Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) emulators (e.g., dSPACE, OPAL-RT, Speedgoat)
• Experience in power systems and system optimization
• Knowledge of battery storage technologies and battery management systems
• Strong track record of scientific publications
• Excellent communication skills in English (oral and written)

**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Ph.D. in electrical engineering or related discipline (preferably with specialization in high-power engineering, control engineering, or similar)

Annual Salary: Depends on seniority as agreed between the Danish Ministry of Taxation and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations.
