**Job Description**
The Insect Biodiversity and Evolution lab focuses on ecological and evolutionary drivers of diversity in Coleoptera (beetles) using multidisciplinary approaches including phylogenomics, morphology, ecological, and distributional data. This 12-month Post-Doctoral Associate position is centered on the “Passalidae Tree of Life Project” within the Department of Entomology, aiming to investigate the origins of unique bess beetle (Coleoptera: Passalidae) fauna in the Caribbean islands and Mesoamerica. The role involves fieldwork, molecular systematics, and integration of biodiversity data.

• Demonstrated expertise in insect taxonomy
• Demonstrated expertise in phylogenetics
• Fieldwork and collection-based experience
• Record of peer reviewed publications (Preferred)
• Demonstrated experience working with the family Passalidae (Preferred)
• Experience with phylogenomics; next-gen sequencing data collection and analyses (Preferred)
• Experience in working with biodiversity at a global scale (Preferred)
