**Job Description**
The Mahan postdoctoral fellowship, offered by the Herbold Computational Biology Program at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center, provides a 21-month stipend for an exceptional individual to begin an independent scientific career. Fellows will pursue a proposed research project in the laboratory of a Fred Hutch Computational Biologist mentor, or a University of Washington faculty member co-mentoring with a Fred Hutch faculty member. The research must focus on a topic of biological interest with a significant computational or mathematical component, which may also include an experimental component, and should primarily reflect the applicant’s ideas.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Strong computational and mathematical background
• Laboratory training (can be acquired through a training component)
• Ability to design and lead independent research projects
**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Computational discipline
• Quantitative discipline
• Biological discipline
Ph.D. must be awarded prior to the start of the fellowship and no earlier than June 2023. Applicants who have held faculty or staff scientist positions are not eligible.
