**Job Description**
The Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam is seeking two Postdoc Researchers to join projects investigating the use and governance of AI technology in civil service provision and public organizations. The first position focuses on understanding the risks involved in citizen-state interactions with AI, aiming to design fair algorithms and govern AI-related risks. The second position explores the actual and intended use of AI in public organizations, researching reasons for adoption and empirically measuring affected public values, hypothesizing efficiency and effectiveness as key drivers while exploring other values.

**Skills & Abilities**
• Advanced qualitative research skills.
• Preferably experience in conducting expert interviews and fieldwork independently.
• Proven track record in publishing in high-quality international peer-reviewed journals.
• Willingness to work in a team.
• Excellent English language skills.
• Excellent Dutch language skills.

**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Public Administration
• Business Ethics
• Political Science
• Management Studies
• Organization Studies
• Related fields (Ph.D)

**Experience**
Other:
• Proven track record in publishing in high-quality international peer-reviewed journals
• Preferably experience in conducting expert interviews and fieldwork independently

Annual Salary: €56,736 - €77,196 (gross per annum, based on full-time) Position Classification: UFO profile Researcher 3 Benefits: 8% holiday allowance, 8.3% end-of-year bonus, optional personalized benefits package, access to sports facilities at a modest charge, contribution to commuting expenses, holiday leave entitlement of 232 hours per year (for 38-hour week) or 328 hours (for 40-hour week).
