**Job Description**
New York University Abu Dhabi is seeking a Research Assistant for the newly established Abu Dhabi Precision Medicine Virtual Research Institute (ADPMVRI), supervised by Prof Bas Rokers. The institute aims to create a comprehensive research infrastructure for tailored diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment, focusing on non-communicable diseases prevalent in Abu Dhabi. The role will specifically contribute to brain health research, identifying markers predictive of perceptual and cognitive impairment in conditions like diabetes, multiple sclerosis, obesity, and brain aging. The appointed candidate will develop and deploy solutions for managing and analyzing large datasets including neuroimaging, genomics, and health-related information.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Background in database management
• Neuroimaging and/or genomics data analytics
• Machine learning and artificial intelligence applications
• Programming experience with MATLAB
• Programming experience with python
• Programming experience with shell scripting
• UNIX/LINUX environments
• Familiarity working within a high-performance computing environment
