**Job Description**
This role seeks a Health Services Researcher (Mixed Methods) to play a key part in projects focused on health inequalities within maternal and neonatal care, specifically for the NIHR Policy Research Unit in Maternal and Neonatal Health and Care (PRU-MNHC) and the National Perinatal Epidemiology Unit (NPEU). Responsibilities include analyzing health outcomes, healthcare use, costs, and care experiences for women and babies from preconception through the postnatal period. The position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to impactful research aimed at improving maternal and neonatal health services.

**Skills & Abilities**
• Good command of spoken and written English
• Skilled in statistical software like R and Stata
• Able to handle multiple projects while meeting deadlines
• Strong experience with all aspects of patient and public involvement (PPPI) in research
• Excellent communication skills for diverse audiences
• Track record of preparing documents for publication
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to prepare and deliver teaching materials in higher education
• Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Health-related field (MSc) that includes mixed methods approaches

**Experience**
Other:
• Substantial experience in health services research
• Experience working with randomised controlled trials (RCTs)
• Experience managing large, complex datasets
• Desirable: Research experience in maternal, perinatal, or paediatric fields
• Desirable: Knowledge or experience using routinely collected datasets such as Hospital Episode Statistics (HES) or the Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CPRD) to estimate healthcare utilisation and costs
