**Job Description**
The position involves active work on the preparation and defence of a PhD thesis in Chemistry. The successful candidate will perform research, publish scientific articles related to the research project, and carry out teaching, research, and service support tasks for the Department of Chemistry.

• Motivated and committed to a doctoral project.
• Willingness to apply for an external funded fellowship (e.g., FWO fellowships 2026).
• Fluent communication in English and Dutch.
• Acts with attention to quality, integrity, creativity and cooperation.
• Pronounced interest in the research of one of the research groups of the Chemistry department at the University of Antwerp.

**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Chemistry
• Bio-engineering
• Applied sciences (engineering) with specialization in chemistry
• Civil engineering with specialization in chemistry
