**Job Description**
The University of Coimbra opens a call for one research grant under project 2023.12005.PEX, titled “BarriersReveal – Unveiling sex-specific patterns in the neonatal brain barriers”. The position focuses on assisting research related to an FCT-funded project to elucidate physiological sex differences in the development of brain-barrier interfaces, which are crucial for brain immune surveillance, in order to better understand the etiology of neonatal sepsis and the higher susceptibility to brain injury in baby males. This aim will be achieved through the combination of methodologies such as flow cytometry, multiphoton microscopy for live imaging, behavior tests, and transcriptomics to study neonatal brain development.
