**Job Description**
This PhD studentship focuses on defining the role of the pioneer factor FOXA1 in hormone-dependent breast and prostate cancer. The project aims to identify critical post-translational modifications (PTMs) on FOXA1 using novel saturation mutagenesis screens coupled with state-of-the-art ‘top-down’ Mass Spectrometry approaches. The long-term goal is to discover new ways of regulating FOXA1 to develop therapeutic strategies for hormone-dependent cancers, building on the understanding that FOXA1 is a foundational mediator in these diseases and a promising drug target for overcoming treatment resistance.
