**Job Description**
The Business Researcher I contributes to the planning and design of business research and creative projects. This role involves performing supporting research and creative activities such as data analysis, monitoring outcomes, performing lab maintenance, or conducting experiments and creating creative projects. The individual may assist in both short- and long-term planning, project goals, research proposals, and the dissemination of project findings. The position is within the Center for Business and Economic Research (CBER), which focuses on research and service to Alabama and the nation, promoting development through studies in economic and fiscal policy, business, environmental, and economic and workforce development. Key responsibilities include redeveloping, maintaining, and enhancing the proprietary CBER web application, Alabama Economy Online, developing and maintaining economic models and databanks, conceptualizing and incorporating changes in state economic systems into forecasting models, and interacting with external contacts to communicate economic insights. The role works in a team environment and may include project-specific supervisory responsibilities.

**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Economics
• Statistics

**Experience**
Experience Required:
• Two (2) years (Bachelor’s) of economic analysis and/or forecasting experience.
• Some experience (Master’s degree or higher) of economic analysis and/or forecasting experience.
