**Job Description**
This doctoral research fellowship is part of the European Research Council-funded Consolidator project ECOART, which explores an ecological history of Eurasian art from 1500 to 1800. The specific focus of this dissertation project is the artistic use and visual representation of geological resources such as gemstones, clays, and metals in Mughal India during the early modern globalization era. The project will investigate the extraction, exchange, and artistic uses of these resources, analyzing extant artifacts and visual documentation of mining to understand how geological resources informed aesthetic practices in the Mughal Empire and beyond.
