**Job Description**
The Department of Chemical Biology and Therapeutics is seeking a highly motivated and innovative synthetic organic chemist specialized in medicinal chemistry. The incumbent will be responsible for designing and synthesizing molecules and compound libraries using modern computation-driven and property-focused design principles. They will collaborate with biologists to interpret assay data and iteratively design and prioritize new compounds. Projects will focus on advancing cutting-edge drug discovery programs for childhood catastrophic diseases, developing unique chemical approaches (protein degraders, synthetic gene regulators, and/or functional effectors) to degrade or manipulate targets relevant to pediatric oncology, neurodegenerative disorders, and sickle cell disease.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Strong knowledge and experience in understanding and application of underlying principles related to the techniques being performed.
• Experience in R&D methods and processes in lab setting, and execution of research projects for the laboratory preferred.
• Proven performance in earlier role/comparable role.

• Relevant scientific area

• 5+ years (BSc)
• 3+ years (MSc)
• No prior experience (Ph.D)
