**Job Description**
This Ph.D. position offers a unique opportunity for a passionate candidate in practical philosophy to explore the existential impacts of Long Covid on patients. The project, with a 4-year duration, will investigate the multi-levelled ‘deadliness’ associated with Long Covid, including ‘living death’, social death, and suicide ideation, through a comparative empirical/practical philosophical lens focusing on Germany (North Rhine-Westphalia) and the Netherlands. The primary output will be a Ph.D. monograph consisting of a critical phenomenological analysis based on a literature review and qualitative data collection.

**Skills & Abilities**
• Fluent in German and English.
• Knowledge of the Dutch language (advantage).
• Demonstrable affinity with the medical humanities and/or the philosophy of death.
• Affinity with empirical/applied philosophy or social sciences (advantage).
• Experience in qualitative empirical research (preferably, but not a requirement).
• Highly motivated.
• Able to work independently as well as in a team.
