**Job Description**
This collaborative research program within the VIB-Center for Inflammation Research, led by the Guilliams and Saelens teams, seeks a motivated PhD candidate or Postdoctoral Fellow. The project investigates intercellular cascades that dictate cell identity in tissues, particularly in the liver, focusing on a 4-cell module. The research has a dual focus: analyzing spatial, single-cell, and multi-omics data to characterize molecular layers in healthy, genetically perturbed, and regenerating livers, and developing algorithms to disentangle direct intercellular signals from induced ones. Predictions from these methods will be validated using CRISPR-based in vivo perturbational approaches. The role offers a unique interdisciplinary atmosphere, embedding the candidate within both experimental and computational teams.
