This fully funded 4-year Ph.D position is within a theory group specializing in the statistical physics of living systems, including chromosomes, migrating cells, and multicellular tissues. The group collaborates closely with experimental labs to understand emergent functional dynamics and organization. The specific project focuses on “Learning non-reciprocal interactions between migrating cells.” The objective is to develop a data-driven theoretical approach to detect and quantify non-reciprocal interactions directly from time-resolved microscopy data of cell migration experiments, moving beyond a priori assumptions about cellular interactions.

**Skills & Abilities**
• Preferred background in theoretical physics, statistical, soft or biological physics.
• Experience with using inference/machine learning tools.
• Basic programming skills.

**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Physics (MSc Degree)
