**Job Description**
This Ph.D. project is part of an interdisciplinary research initiative bridging theoretical physics and theoretical computer science. The work will involve extending established techniques for quantum circuit representation and manipulation, such as diagrammatic methods like ZX-calculus, to describe quantum noise. The extended methods will then be applied for quantum circuit compilation, optimization, and error mitigation, in collaboration with theoretical computer scientists to develop noise-aware quantum programming paradigms.
