**Job Description**
This Ph.D. research project is designed for aspiring scientists focusing on developing groundbreaking technologies for advanced diagnostics, particularly multifunctional endoscopy. The project aims to explore and develop probes for ex-vivo and in-vivo tissue imaging, classification, and identification. This will be achieved by integrating piezoelectric materials and transducers with photoacoustic technology, primarily utilizing single optical fibers or fiber bundles where acoustic generation is photoacoustic. Piezoelectric materials will be critical for both enhancing photoacoustic generation and sensing backscattered ultrasound signals. The successful candidate will join a laboratory with expertise in photonics, piezoelectric materials, and device fabrication, working under direct supervision within the IDUN Center of Excellence.
