**Job Description**
This Ph.D. project focuses on Dupuytren’s disease, an irreversible condition that bends fingers into the palm. It aims to understand how genetic risk variants influence disease progression and post-operative recurrence. The project will utilize CRISPR/Cas9 to examine risk variants in patient-derived cells, measuring their impact on force generation, myofibroblast transition, and extracellular matrix deposition. The goal is to provide quantitative, single-cell insights that can inform patient and surgeon decisions regarding surgical intervention timing and identify molecular targets for anti-fibrotic drugs. Findings will integrate with clinical/genetic registries to contribute to precision surgery algorithms and clinical trials.
