**Job Description**
This PhD position is dedicated to biological water treatment in recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS), with a specific focus on exploring stress adaptation in bioreactors and water treatment within aquaculture. The work entails experimental studies on biofilm reactors, offering collaborative opportunities across NTNU departments and with the Norwegian aquaculture industry. The successful candidate will join the Analysis and Control of Microbial Systems (ACMS) group, which is integrated into the Microbial Biotechnology research group.

**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Biotechnology
• Biochemical Engineering
• Environmental Engineering
• Biology (related background with relevant theoretical and laboratory skills)
• Microbiology (related background with relevant theoretical and laboratory skills)
• Chemical Engineering (related background with relevant theoretical and laboratory skills)

**Experience**
Experience Required:
• Relevant Master’s degree (corresponding to a five-year Norwegian course, with 120 credits obtained at master’s level)
Other:
• Strong academic background from previous studies with an average grade from Master’s degree study (or equivalent) equal to B or better compared to NTNU’s grading scale
• Meet requirements for admission to the faculty’s doctoral program (PHBIOT)
• Excellent communication skills in oral and written English, preferably certified by a recognized institution (e.g., TOEFL, IELTS, CAE, CPE)

Details
