**Job Description**
Maastricht University is seeking a Ph.D. candidate to develop AI-based predictive models for understanding and improving adherence to digital health interventions. The primary goal is to enhance the effectiveness of digital health solutions by predicting and supporting behavior change through Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML). The research will focus on developing AI-driven frameworks using unobtrusive measurements (e.g., websites, smartphones, smartwatches) to anticipate user engagement and behavior, utilizing pre-collected datasets from various digital health use cases, such as smartphone-app and Fitbit-supported lifestyle interventions, and web-based interventions for disease prevention.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Strong interest in digital interventions, health promotion, and behavior
• Affinity with data science (e.g., complex statistics, machine learning, or computational modelling) or willingness to develop relevant skills
• Affinity with health promotion or willingness to develop in that field
• Knowledge in programming (e.g., Python, R, SQL) and data science frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn) is a plus
• Excellent English language skills
