**Job Description**
The PhD positions in luminescence physics at DTU Physics focus on the emerging field of Geophotonics, exploring light interaction with natural crystalline materials to decode Earth’s surface dynamics. Funded by the ERC Advanced Grant LUMIN, the project aims to understand charge transport in feldspar to unlock new ways of measuring Earth surface processes, from weathering and erosion to sediment transport and landscape evolution. Research will focus on confocal microscopy of point defects/trapped charges and thermochronometry/rock surface dating.

**Skills & Abilities**
• Strong background in physics, geophysics, materials science, computation, engineering, or a related discipline.
• Strong communication skills in English.
• Strong academic writing skills in English.
• Curious, problem-solving oriented and passionate about working in a team.

**Experience**
