**Job Description**
This PhD position focuses on developing next-generation polymers and coatings for low-temperature fuel cells, specifically to replace environmentally hazardous fluorinated polymers (PFAS). The project involves pioneering new strategies to tailor liquid repellency and proton conductivity on conductive surfaces using advanced grafting techniques. Responsibilities include polymer synthesis, employing state-of-the-art characterization methods, and testing materials in realistic fuel cell devices, in collaboration with industrial partners. This interdisciplinary role combines polymer chemistry, surface science, and electrochemistry to create sustainable materials for clean energy.
