**Job Description**
This PhD project focuses on the design and analysis of dedicated symmetric-key primitives that operate directly over prime fields and/or integer rings. The goal is to provide efficient cryptographic solutions for emerging applications of practical importance, including Format Preserving Encryption (FPE), Multi-Party Computation (MPC), Homomorphic Encryption (HE), and Zero-Knowledge (ZK). The work will involve a strong emphasis on understanding and proposing innovative security arguments for these novel primitives, rather than their implementation. The project is supported by the ERC Starting Grant “SYMPZON”.
