**Job Description**
This multidisciplinary PhD project aims to generate the necessary knowledge and tools to equip local decision-makers to better deal with conflicting values in parallel transitions, requiring an interest in both theory development and engagement with practice. The position is part of the larger AMBITIONS project, involving TU Delft, Utrecht University, and Avans Hogeschool, collaborating with public and private stakeholders in the built environment. The PhD candidate will work closely with academics and practitioners to increase understanding of transition processes and develop improved governance for collections of transitions, building on knowledge from innovation studies, construction management, and public management. The role seeks a candidate who applies engaged qualitative research approaches and impacts practice to contribute to a future-proof built environment.

• Strong interest in and affinity for addressing societal challenges in the built environment.
• Strong interest in and affinity for the management and governance of transition processes.
• Strong interest in and affinity for co-creative qualitative research approaches.
• Comfortable at the interface of academia and practice.
• Effective communication and publication skills in both academic and practical contexts.
• Excellent speaking and academic writing skills in English.
• Effective operational proficiency in Dutch (minimum C1 level, both speaking and writing).

**Qualifications**

• Related fields (Master’s or EngD degree)

Annual Salary: €36,708 - €46,572 Benefits: Holiday allowance (8% of gross annual salary), end-of-year bonus (8.3%), solid pension scheme, minimum 232 leave hours (plus 96 extra leave hours for full-time 40-hour week), free access to sports facilities on campus, family-friendly institution offering paid and unpaid parental leave.
