**Job Description**
This Ph.D. position, part of the NWO-funded SPINES project, addresses the increasing demand for infrastructure services coupled with networks reaching capacity thresholds. It focuses on identifying policy mechanisms and developing systemic modeling approaches to understand interplays that lead to lower infrastructure demand in the long run and reveal pathways to turning points in infrastructure use, considering uncertain demand drivers and their dynamic interaction with intended use changes. The role involves multidisciplinary collaboration and independent research within a stimulating scientific environment.

**Skills & Abilities**
• Experienced, or willing to become an expert in the sustainable transformation of infrastructure and simulation models for socio-technical systems
• Proactive, showing initiative and able to propose and critically evaluate your learning process
• Great teammate with good communication skills, able to work with peers and exchange knowledge in practice
• Proficient in English, preferably Dutch speaking

Salary
Annual Salary: €36,708 - €46,572 (gross annual, increasing from first to fourth year) Benefits: Holiday allowance of 8% of gross annual salary, end-of-year bonus of 8.3%, solid pension scheme, minimum of 232 leave hours (based on 38-hour workweek, plus 96 extra leave hours for 40-hour actual workweek), free access to sports facilities on campus, parental leave (paid and unpaid).
