**Job Description**
This PhD project focuses on understanding and engineering organ-specific blood vessels, addressing the heterogeneity of blood vessels and endothelial cells (ECs) throughout the body. The research aims to elucidate the mechanobiological influences driving endothelial organ-specification and phenotype, and to utilize this knowledge for engineering organ-specific ECs. Insights gained will be applied to control vascularization of engineered tissues and organoids.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Curiosity regarding organ-specific blood vessels, their properties, and endothelial cell behavior.
• Ability to work with human induced pluripotent stem cells.
• Proficiency in differentiating stem cells towards organ-specific endothelial cells.
• Expertise in developing in vitro experimental approaches and assays.
• Capability in performing computational simulations of mechanobiology-mediated angiogenesis.
