**Job Description**
The Van Swinderen Institute for Particle Physics and Gravity is seeking a PhD researcher to work on the LHCb experiment at CERN. The role involves a leading contribution to searches for charged lepton flavour violating decays of b hadrons using LHCb data, which are crucial for understanding physics beyond the Standard Model. Additionally, the candidate will be involved in developing the next upgrade of the LHCb readout system to prepare for future data taking.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Keen interest in particle physics and data processing at high-energy physics experiments.
• Strong background in (experimental) particle physics and statistical data analysis (added advantage).
• Experience with programming languages (e.g., Python, C++) (considered a plus).
• Strong team player, with well-developed communication and collaboration skills.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Willingness to acquire a variety of additional skills ranging from physics modelling and statistical data analysis to hardware programming.
**Qualifications**
