**Job Description**
The Van Swinderen Institute for Particle Physics and Gravity at the University of Groningen invites applications for a PhD researcher position focusing on the LHCb experiment. This role involves taking a leading position in the search for lepton flavour violating decays of b hadrons using data from the LHCb experiment at CERN. Additionally, the successful candidate will contribute to the development of the next upgrade of the readout system, preparing the LHCb experiment for future data taking to advance understanding of physics beyond the Standard Model.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Keen interest in particle physics and data processing at high-energy physics experiments
• Strong background in (experimental) particle physics and statistical data analysis (added advantage)
• Experience with programming languages (e.g., Python, C++)
• Strong team player with well-developed communication and collaboration skills
• Excellent command of written and spoken English
• Strong analytical skills
• Willingness to acquire additional skills in physics modelling, statistical data analysis, and hardware programming
**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Physics
• A closely related field
