**Job Description**
Applications are invited for a fully-funded PhD scholarship at Ghent University, focusing on the environmental humanities. The successful candidate will propose an original project combining theoretical exploration with textual analysis, intersecting with areas such as narrative theory in relation to ecological questions, memory and affect studies, children’s and young adult literature, and ecocriticism with openness to decolonial, interdisciplinary, and cross-cultural perspectives. The scholarship is tenable for up to four years, starting on 1 February 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Annual Salary: Corresponds to 100% of the net salary of an AAP staff member with the same family circumstances, determined by Ghent University's HR Department based on family status and seniority. Fellowships meeting doctoral fellowship regulations are exempt from personal income tax.
