**Job Description**
This PhD position is within the George Cresswell Group at the St. Anna Children’s Cancer Research Institute, focusing on understanding pediatric cancers through genomics and tumor evolution. The successful candidate will contribute to multidisciplinary research aimed at identifying why some cancers resist treatment, utilizing computational analysis, evolutionary experiments, and genomics to gain insights into cancer adaptation and predict patient response.

**Skills & Abilities**
• Strong coding skills (e.g., R, Python, Bash)
• Solid understanding of statistics
• Good understanding of molecular biology/genetics, ideally in cancer research
• Experience with next generation sequencing data analysis or other genome-wide assays (considered a plus)
• Experience with machine learning methods in bioinformatics (considered a plus)
• Enthusiasm, determination, creativity, and scientific curiosity
• Motivation to pursue an ambitious research agenda and make it your own
• Team player with strong communication skills and a proactive “getting things done” mentality
• Excellent verbal and written English skills (German is not required)
