**Job Description**
The Cresswell Group at St. Anna CCRI is recruiting a Ph.D. student to join an ambitious team focused on combining genomics and tumor evolution to better understand pediatric cancers. The role involves contributing to science that makes a difference by analyzing mutational processes and evolution of pediatric cancers, aiming to predict children most at risk of poor treatment response. Inspired by Darwinian principles, the group combines computational analysis, evolutionary experiments, and genomics to gain deep insight into cancer adaptation and resistance to therapy.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Strong coding skills (e.g., R, python, bash)
• Solid understanding of statistics
• Good understanding of molecular biology/genetics, ideally in the field of cancer research
• Experience with next generation sequencing data analysis or other genome-wide assays (considered a plus)
• Experience with machine learning methods in bioinformatics (considered a plus)
• Enthusiasm, determination, creativity, and scientific curiosity
• Motivation to pursue an ambitious research agenda
• Team player with strong communication skills and a proactive “getting things done” mentality
• Excellent verbal and written skills in English
