**Job Description**
The Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI), Switzerland’s largest research institute for natural and engineering sciences, is seeking a PhD Student to join the Nanodiffraction Group. The role involves participating in the development of a novel imaging technique, low-energy electron holography, for atomic-resolution imaging of 2D crystals and nanocrystalline samples, and applying this technique to cutting-edge research in future technologies and fundamental sciences.

**Skills & Abilities**
• Good knowledge of solid-state physics, coherent optics, and theoretical physics (quantum mechanics, QED)
• Experience in experimental physics
• Programming skills (Matlab, Python) (plus)
• Experimental experience in electron microscopy and light optical imaging (plus)

**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Physics
• Engineering

**Experience**
Other:
• Master’s degree or equivalent required
