**Job Description**
A postdoctoral position is available in the Bose Lab at the University of Kansas Medical Center. The research program focuses on identifying novel pathways utilized by bacteria to cause disease, with a specific interest in how the human pathogen *Staphylococcus aureus* responds to and uses host fatty acids. This role involves a multidisciplinary approach encompassing cell-based assays, biochemistry, protein structure and function, and immunology. The Postdoc will design and execute research projects, analyze multi-omics data, prepare findings for presentations and manuscripts, contribute to grant applications, and publish research in peer-reviewed literature under faculty mentorship.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Data analysis of “omics” data (Preferred)
• Experience in protein purification and related assays (Preferred)
**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Microbiology
• Immunology
• Biochemistry
• Molecular Biology
• Related field
**Experience**
Experience Required:
• Research experience using BSL-2 organisms
Other:
• Research experience with *S. aureus* or related organism (Preferred)
• Animal models of infection (Preferred)
