Post-doctoral Associate

**Job Description**
The Smart Materials Lab at New York University Abu Dhabi seeks a post-doctoral associate to conduct crystal structure determination using electron or X-ray crystallography. The role involves independent sample preparation, data collection, and refinement of challenging crystal structures, alongside contributing to other lab projects and supervising students.

**Skills & Abilities**
• Substantial experience in crystallography, specifically in the structure solution and refinement of small molecule crystals using electron or X-ray diffraction techniques.
• Capability of preparing samples, independently collecting data, and solving and refining crystal structures.
• Proficiency in refining structures from electron diffraction data collected using a microscope or specialized equipment (preferred).
• Experience in structure analysis based on powder diffraction, neutron diffraction, or scattering data (also considered).

**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Chemistry
• Physics
• Materials Science
• Related field (with a focus on crystallography)

**Experience**
Other:
• Substantial experience in crystallography
