**Job Description**
The successful candidate will lead a research project focused on head and neck tissue resident stem cells. The project will investigate their contribution to tissue maintenance and repair across the lifespan, their potential exploitation for regenerative medicine, and how oncogenic mutations contribute to their malignant transformation and tumorigenesis. The role requires scientific curiosity, high motivation, teamwork, and the ability to work and think independently.

**Skills & Abilities**
• Scientific curiosity, highly motivated, team player, and ability to work and think independently.
• Excellent communication and writing skills.
• Proficiency in molecular biology techniques (e.g., molecular cloning, plasmid preps, RNA/DNA preps, and PCR analysis).
• Proficiency in protein analysis (Western blot, ELISA, FACS).
• Proficiency in next-generation sequencing technologies (NGS).
• Experience with flow-cytometry.
• Experience with tissue- and cell-based culture systems/models.
• Experience with in vivo assessments of muscle physiology.
• Experience with animal surgeries and tissue harvest, and animal behavioral analyses.
• Proficiency with immunofluorescence microscopy.
• Experience with Adeno-Associated Virus and/or Lentivirus Production and Purification.
• Bioinformatic analysis experience (highly desirable).
• Excellent communication and scientific writing skills.

**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Cell Biology
• Molecular Biology
• Biomedical Engineering
• Genetics
• Genomics
• Related field

• At least one first author publication (including those under review or in-press).
