**Job Description**
This post-doctoral position at the Smart Materials Lab (Panče Naumov Group), within the Division of Science and Mathematics at NEW YORK UNIVERSITY ABU DHABI, seeks a highly motivated candidate in Artificial Intelligence (AI) for materials science. The role emphasizes structure-property-relationships, materials optimization, materials under extreme conditions, and generative AI. The successful candidate will independently lead a project focused on developing generative AI models to establish structure-property relationships for materials discovery, collaborating closely with the project team and experimentalists from the Smart Materials Lab (SML) and the Center for Smart Engineering Materials (CSEM) at NYUAD. The position also involves publishing results in peer-reviewed journals, presenting at conferences, participating in other lab projects, and assisting in supervising undergraduate or PhD students.

**Skills & Abilities**
• Substantial experience in artificial intelligence and machine learning methods, specifically in AI-driven materials discovery, machine learning applications for materials, or generative AI related to materials.
• Expertise in AI/ML (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, Python).
• Interest in materials applications.
• Strong publication record.

**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Relevant field (PhD)
