**Job Description**
This project focuses on developing supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs) from recycled concrete fines (RCFs) to promote sustainable building practices and address CO₂ emissions from concrete production. The research aims to understand how the C2CA recycling process can effectively upcycle concrete with various impurities (e.g., bricks, ceramics) to produce high-quality SCMs. Methods will be developed to improve recycled concrete properties, and new, high-performance SCMs will be created by exploring blends of RCFs with other mineral residues like dredged sediments or excavation waste. Lab-scale tests will evaluate the performance and durability of these novel SCMs for construction applications. The postdoc researcher will contribute to the Building Materials Group’s work on sustainable and circular building materials, investigating their chemical, physical, aesthetic, functional, and durability properties through experimental observations and modeling.
