**Job Description**
Applications are invited for a 2-year postdoc position focused on the Gut-Brain axis, utilizing a zebrafish model system. The role involves designing, conducting, and analyzing experiments to understand the impact of inflammation on the gut-brain axis. The successful candidate will join a new lab researching the interactions between the enteric nervous system, immune system, brain, and microbiome, with opportunities to develop projects aligned with existing experience and career goals. The project will involve in vivo imaging of neuronal activity and immune responses, generation of transgenic lines, RNAseq, immunofluorescence, and behavioural/immunological assays.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Experience and an international track record in neuroscience, microbiology, or immunology
• Excellent communication skills in English
• Ability to work collaboratively
• Ability to direct and take ownership of research projects
• Experience with the zebrafish model (Desirable)
• Experience with imaging, especially in vivo imaging (Desirable)
• Coding experience in Matlab, Python or R (Desirable)
• Record of first-author publications or preprints (Desirable)
• Success in competitive funding schemes/awards (Desirable)
• Experience with inflammatory models (Desirable)
