**Job Description**
This 3-year Postdoc position, within the general field of coastal engineering at DTU, is an integral part of the European Research Council-financed “SHORE” project. The SHORE project aims to bridge the knowledge gap in predicting sand and particle transport in coastal environments, particularly concerning cross-shore processes and the accurate simulation of microplastic particle spreading. The project seeks to develop a novel model capable of accurately simulating both on and offshore transport of sediments and microplastic particles without case-specific calibration, addressing challenges like beach erosion and ocean pollution. The role involves collaboration with Utrecht, Aberdeen, and Twente Universities, including an expected external research stay at Aberdeen University.
