**Job Description**
We are seeking a highly motivated candidate for a 2.5-year Postdoc position as part of the fully funded SIF project. This project, titled “Smooth muscle cell in vitro assays for the development of atherosclerosis therapies,” aims to advance disease-relevant smooth muscle cell assays to bridge basic research and drug discovery. The successful candidate will lead Work Package 2, focusing on developing and applying smooth muscle cell-based assays, guided by single-cell spatial transcriptomic datasets, to test candidate drugs for atherosclerosis therapies using human plaque samples. The role also involves contributing to cross-sector research collaborations and disseminating findings.

**Skills & Abilities**
• High motivation, scientific curiosity, problem-solving skills, and independent initiative.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Bioinformatic analysis experience (e.g., single-cell transcriptomics) (Nice to have).
• Background in atherosclerosis or vascular biology, particularly smooth muscle cell biology (Nice to have).

**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Molecular biology
• Medicine
• A related discipline

**Experience**
Other:
• Hands-on expertise with cell culture and molecular biology techniques (e.g., RNAseq).
