**Job Description**
This postdoctoral position focuses on developing and validating advanced AI models for the prediction of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The research involves integrating medical imaging, multi-modal clinical and omics data, and explainable AI (XAI) to contribute to early detection and risk stratification in patients with liver disease. The role requires close interdisciplinary collaboration with AI and data science specialists, radiologists, hepatologists, and healthcare professionals within the framework of the ZonMw project AI-HCC. The researcher will be embedded in the Cognition, Data and Education (CODE) section at the University of Twente and will explore advanced deep learning approaches and XAI techniques to ensure both predictive accuracy and medical interpretability of the models.

Experience Required:
• Strong publication record with first-author work in AI in health.
• Expertise in deep learning for medical imaging, preferably with multi-modal data integration.
• Knowledge of explainable AI methods and their application to clinical problems.
