**Job Description**
The Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam is seeking two Postdoc Researchers to join projects focused on the application and governance of AI technology in civil service provision and public organizations. The first position (0.8 FTE, 18 months) is part of the NWA-funded VALUE-AI project, exploring the promises and pitfalls of AI in citizen-state interactions, with an emphasis on designing fair algorithms and governing AI-related risks. The second position (0.75 FTE, 24 months) is part of the NWO-funded AI4ALL project, focusing on the actual and intended use of AI in public organizations, researching the reasons for AI adoption, its expected impact, and empirically measuring the public values affected by AI in public governance. The role may include teaching activities (Master thesis supervision) up to a full 1.0 FTE.

• Advanced qualitative research skills
• Preferably experience in conducting expert interviews and fieldwork independently
• Proven track record in publishing in high-quality international peer-reviewed journals
• Willingness to work in a team
• Excellent English language skills
• Excellent Dutch language skills
