Postdoctoral Associate

**Job Description**
This Postdoctoral Associate position at NYU Abu Dhabi’s Division of Social Science is for individuals with a Ph.D. in fields such as sociology, social psychology, computational social science, computer science, information science, or data science. The role, starting September 1, 2026, involves spending half time on independent research and half time on collaborative research with Professors Mario D. Molina, Minsu Park, and Blaine Robbins. Research focuses on large-scale analyses of digital traces and virtual lab experiments to study ingroup favoritism, group boundaries, insider/outsider categorization, intergroup relations, social cohesion, and designing interventions for online inclusivity and discourse. This position is ideal for computational social scientists or computer/data scientists looking to transition into the social sciences.

**Skills & Abilities**
• Expertise in working with large-scale digital trace data
• Expertise in building and running natural language processing and machine learning workflows
• Expertise in experimental design and causal inference (including virtual lab experiments)
• Expertise in network or computational modeling
• Strong interest in applying these tools to questions of group formation, intergroup relations, and the distribution of resources on online platforms
