**Job Description**
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking Postdoctoral Associates for the Child Health Institute of NJ at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Under the direction of a Principal Investigator, the Postdoc(s) will be responsible for the design, analysis, interpretation, and presentation of experiments studying the molecular mechanisms of synaptic transmission regulation in mammalian brain and human neurons. The role involves participation in lab meetings, research seminars, conference presentations, manuscript preparation, and assisting with grant applications, while also applying for personal grant funding. Career development training in experimental design and presentation skills will be provided.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Strong background in neuroscience and/or cell biology.
• Ability to perform molecular, cellular, and/or electro-physiological experiments.
• Prior experience with cell culture, biochemistry, and cell imaging techniques.
• Ability to work with rodent animals and human embryonic cells.
• Effective oral and written communication skills; ability to understand and communicate in English.
• Computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• High level of research competency, knowledge, and skills to perform duties assigned by the PI.
• Ability to assist in daily lab management, including training and direct oversight of personnel and students.
• Highly motivated, excellent organizational skills (Preferred).
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently under the guidance of the PI (Preferred).
• Excellent writing skills with experience in writing grants, fellowships, manuscripts, or scientific reports (Strongly preferred).
**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Neuroscience
• Relevant biological sciences
**Experience**
Other:
• Prior experience with cell culture, biochemistry, and cell imaging techniques.
• At least one first-author publication in peer-reviewed journals in biology-relevant fields.
