**Job Description**
The Cepika Lab at Stanford University is seeking a productive, self-driven postdoctoral fellow with a background in immunology and interest in translational research. The role focuses on understanding the biological role of human regulatory T cell (Treg) subtypes in solid tumors, their impact on responses to cancer immunotherapy, and induction of immune tolerance in the tumor microenvironment. The candidate will investigate human Tregs in vitro and in vivo using patient samples and humanized mouse models, apply state-of-the-art technologies, participate in T cell-targeted therapy development, and develop skills for a career in academia or biopharmaceutical industry.

**Skills & Abilities**
• Acquire cutting-edge methods in human cellular immunology, T cell and Treg biology, genomics, functional genomics, fluorescence-activated cell sorting, and spatial imaging.
• Develop or increase proficiency in R/Python coding, next-generation sequencing data interpretation, large-scale data integration, and machine learning.
• Strengthen the ability to formulate hypotheses, design aims to test the hypothesis experimentally, interpret and troubleshoot complex results, and prioritize research findings towards actionable outcomes (manuscripts, grants, patents).
• Improve oral presentation skills, scientific writing, and funding acquisition strategies through active participation in seminars and workshops and competing for fellowships.
• Gain experience in project management, mentoring junior team members, and fostering collaborative research efforts.
• Understand how basic immunological findings can be translated to T cell-targeted therapies in the field of cancer immunotherapy and beyond.
• Demonstrated self-initiative and motivation.
• Interest in developing collaborations.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Reliability in laboratory records.
• Skills to organize workflows, critically interpret data, plan experiments, and present data in writing and in person in a clear and effective manner.
