**Job Description**
Applications are invited for a full-time Postdoctoral Research Assistant to investigate mechanical sensing and phenotypic switching in vascular smooth muscle cells and their involvement in arterial disease onset and progression. The role, funded by the British Heart Foundation, will focus on mechanosensing and phenotypic switching, building upon the Iskratsch Group’s previous work on pressure sensing and extracellular matrix stiffness. This will involve the use of mechanical characterization, mechanical stimulation, and various quantitative microscopy techniques. The postholder will also collaborate with project partners to establish ex-vivo artery cultures and characterize mechanosensing pathways in vivo.
