**Job Description**
This position focuses on computational biology, combining the development of novel computational methods, specifically involving control theory, with practical systems modelling, simulation, and data analysis. The primary application field is platelet biology and haemostasis. The postholder will play a key role in a project to develop new computational approaches for the objective evaluation of purpose in biology, which will be integrated with an experimental program on cell communication and coordination, considering thrombi as “transient tissues.”
**Skills & Abilities**
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team/environment.
• Previous experience with computational modelling, method development, and numerical analysis applied to biology or allied fields (e.g., neuroscience, medicine).
• Publication record and experience of presenting at conferences.
• Knowledge of, or willingness to rapidly learn about, cell biology in general and platelet biology and haemostasis in particular.
**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Biology
• Physics
• Applied Mathematics
• Engineering
• Computer Science
**Experience**
Other:
• Prior experience in applying technical skills (physics, engineering, applied mathematics, computer science) to biology or allied fields (neuroscience and medicine).
• Commensurate publication record.
