We are seeking a qualified Postdoctoral Research Associate to join a team working on NSF ERC and DOE cyanobacterial bio grants. The primary focus is on sustainable waste treatments and bio-productions, involving responsibilities such as fermentation, bioreactor operations, cell growth analysis, microbial population analysis, and chemistry analysis. The role also includes statistical modeling, lab management, student mentoring, proposal/paper writing, guest teaching a bioprocess engineering class, and project coordination/reporting.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Experience with large language models for knowledge synthesis and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
• Proficiency in fermentation techniques.
• Expertise in bioreactor operations.
• Ability to perform cell growth analysis (imaging, OD analysis, HPLC metabolite measurement).
• Skills in microbial population analysis (16sRNA).
• Competence in chemistry analysis (N, P, metals).
• Strong statistical modeling abilities.
• Lab management, cleaning, and safety monitoring skills.
• Student mentoring capabilities.
• Scientific proposal and paper writing skills.
• Knowledge and ability to teach bioprocess engineering concepts.
• Project coordination and reporting skills.
