Postdoctoral Research Associate

**Job Description**
The Division of Nephrology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center seeks a Postdoctoral Research Associate to investigate mechanisms of kidney injury in kidney transplantation models. This role involves studying signaling pathways leading to nephrotoxic injury from common immunosuppressants, and exploring both immunological and non-immunological mechanisms of late graft failure.

**Skills & Abilities**
• Rodent handling
• Cell culture
• Common cellular immunology and molecular biology techniques
• Mouse models of kidney injury (preferred)
• Microsurgical skills (preferred)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and image and statistical analysis software

**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Biochemistry
• Immunology
• Pharmacology
• Physiology
• Pathology
• Related field

**Experience**
Experience Required:
• Expertise in immunological responses in vertebrate animals
• Skills in rodent handling, cell culture, and common cellular immunology and molecular biology techniques
• First-author publications in peer-reviewed journals
• Ability to write research papers, with goal of multiple grant submissions in the first year
